=>Google profits jumped seven fold from last year to $381.2 million . Google revenues increased by 96% to $1.578 billion from previous year, with sales of $1.05 billion . =>US senate is debating seriously to add 60,000 H-1B visas to the annual quota of 65,000 that will give another chance to the Indian IT professionals to emigrate to the USA

=>Nine Indian outsourcing firms, led by Infosys and Wipro, use 19,512 of the H-1B visas, or 30% of the 65,000 visas allocated each year. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employs 8,000 foreign nationals working in the U.S. on H-1B visas and Infosys has 7,100 in 2007. Among the top Indian outsourcing firms, these were the amount of H1B visas used: Infosys Technolgies - 4908, Wipro - 4002, Tata Consultancy Services - 3046, Satyam Computer Services - 2880, Patni Computer Systems - 1391, Larsen & Toubro Infotech - 947, i-flex solutions - 817, Tech Mahindra Americas - 770, MphasiS - 751 .

=>US Senate votes in favour of raising the cap on H1B visas to 95000 and on employment based immigration visas (green cards) to 240,000 per year .

=>US Non-immigrant visas for Indians will be cleared in six days .

=>US will put a stop on accepting H1B visas application for one year (for 2008). US Immigration Services (USCIS) received 1,50,000 applications for 65,000 H1B visas within the first few hours of opening petitions (for 2007). Since the number of applications received was already more than double the limit, the Immigration Service Office decided to use computers to randomly pick visa recipients from the applications received. It was the first time that a lottery system was used to pick H1B candidates .
